The cafe
Pink chairs, plants on every surface, and the river right there.
The Fifth Daughter is a small cafe on the Tocumwal foreshore, in the same building as the Tourist Information Centre and a short walk from the Murray.
Inside it's blond timber tables, white panelling and a counter crowded with greenery around the La Marzocco. Outside there are tables for sunny mornings, and on a wet Sunday the team will wipe the chairs down so a family of seven can still sit out.
Stop in for a coffee on the way through, or settle in for breakfast. Takeaway is always an option.

Buttermilk pancakes
A tall stack with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, ice cream and maple syrup. Some days they come crowned with a cloud of pink fairy floss, and there's a version with bacon and a jug of maple for the sweet and salty crowd. Ask for them gluten free.

“I had a coffee that was literally the best coffee I've ever had and also the best chicken schnitzel burger I've ever had. It's a really nice little place very friendly owners and staff and just a really nice little spot near the river. We have been there twice now coming from Shepparton and definitely will be going back again soon.”
